What automation and integration options does a data box offer?
A data box has an open interface that allows it to be connected to the software you use in your company every day. This removes the need to keep logging in through a browser.
CONNECTING A DATA BOX TO ACCOUNTING AND ERP SYSTEMS
Most modern economic programs (for example Pohoda, Money S3, Abra, Vario) have a built-in module for data boxes. What do they do or offer, among other things?
- Automatic downloading: At regular intervals, the program connects to the data box itself and downloads new messages directly into the "Mail" or "Documents" agenda.
- Sending from the program: You send invoices, returns or statements for insurers with a single click directly from your accounting software. The program finds the recipient's IDDS itself and saves the delivery receipt.
- Archiving: This elegantly solves the problem of messages being deleted after 90 days – the messages remain permanently stored directly in your database.

THE API INTERFACE FOR DEVELOPERS AND CUSTOM SOLUTIONS
For companies with specific needs or for software providers, there is a public API interface (the ISDS web services):
- Custom integration: Developers can connect the data box to a company CRM or approval systems (DMS). A message from a court can thus automatically create a task for the legal department.
- Bulk operations: The API allows the bulk sending of thousands of messages at once, which is used, for example, by banks, insurers or energy companies.
INTEGRATING THE DATA BOX WITH THE CITIZEN PORTAL
If you are not a large company but want automation for free, you can use the link to the Citizen Portal (Portál občana). Here you can set up the automatic archiving of messages or a link to a calendar that alerts you to the approaching end of deadlines from delivered documents.
